ReWA is a non-profit, multi-ethnic organization dedicated to providing comprehensive services to refugee and immigrant communities throughout King County
ReWA, a long-standing advocate for refugee and immigrant rights, is proud to participate in the Women’s March on Seattle on January 21st.
Teen girls in ReWA’s Youth Development Program participated in a self-defense and personal safety training over winter break. The girls learned how to recognize early warning signs of danger and gained confidence and skills to better ward off an attack. Many thanks to Joanne Factor, owner and instructor Strategic Living (http://www.strategicliving.org/) for generously providing her wisdom and expertise to ReWA’s young women. In addition we are grateful to WAVE Foundation (https://thewavefoundation.org/) for partially sponsoring this event.
ReWA’s Levy kids had such a great time at SANCA Seattle. Sanca Schoolofflight fully allowed our kids to support each other through their fears and surprise themselves with what they are capable of. Thank you for creating such a warm and memorable experience for us! We hope to see you again very soon.
As part of Mayor Murray’s commitment to making Seattle a welcoming city, Seattle Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs will host a legal services event on Friday, January 20th. Legal permanent residents, who do not have criminal or memory issues, will receive help to complete their naturalization applications. Participants will have the opportunity to talk with an immigration attorney, get assistance from the Mexican consulate, and learn their rights as immigrants, regardless of their status.
