The objectives of the PTA include:
• To promote the welfare of children and youth in the home, school, and community.
• To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of youth and children.
• To bring into closer relation the home and the school, so that parents and teachers may collaborate in training the child.
• To develop between educators and the general public such efforts as will secure for every child the highest advantage in physical, mental, and social education.
• The overall goal of McGilvra Parents and PTA is to support the teachers of our children and to achieve the best education possible for all children.
• General PTA meetings are held on the last Wednesday of every other month at 6:30 in the library; see the School Calendar page for exact dates.

[01/03/17] Do you have a large vehicle? Are you able and willing to do some heavy lifting? A sofa has been donated to the library to replace the current one (our old sofa, after many years of service, is on its last legs). The challenge is getting the new sofa to the library. We are hoping to find a parent or two with a large vehicle who could drive over to Mercer Island this week, load the sofa and then deliver it to McGilvra. Please let us know right here if you're available!
