Volcanoes

What' s the best way to end three great months of science....explode volcanoes! For our end of the unit extravaganza, each student built a mini Mt Rainier, complete with lakes, camp grounds, bird nests, and even Puyallup in the distance and the results were explosive! We're proud of these students for their hard work, perseverance, and enthusiasm for learning.

At SJCS we continue to be thankful for the generosity and commitment to our students shown by our community. Thanks to our wonderful families and supporters, our first-ever #GivingTuesday event is well on its way to being a great success. There is still time to participate in this exciting opportunity to give! Donate on our website at sjcs.net/giving

Giving Tuesday is a global movement that encourages philanthropy amid the yearly post-Thanksgiving consumerism. Tomorrow, November 29th, we encourage everyone in our community to join in and make a gift to SJCS!

All gifts directly support our ability to provide our students with an exceptional integrated education based on thoughtful inquiry, compassionate connections, and a strong sense of self.

Make your gift online today or tomorrow at sjcs.net/giving #GivingTuesday

In the spirit of Thanksgiving (Chag HaHodayah), SJCS 2nd Graders made an "Attitude of Gratitude" Jar. Everyone put two special strips in the jar saying why they are grateful. The class discussed the importance Judaism places on expressing gratitude through brachot (blessings) and that living with gratitude increases happiness. Great lessons for us all, at any time of year!
