The GJSFO is a student group at Antioch University Seattle exploring feminism in a multicultural context.
This group will meet bi-monthly and discuss feminist topics focused by short readings or current issues from the media. Students do not need to complete readings to attend the meetings and participate in the discussions. Students may attend regularly, once a quarter, or whenever their schedule allows. Art, writing, and other forms of expression can be utilized as well.
We are also planning to bring in high profile feminist speakers once per quarter, starting with Gwen Jones in the Fall Quarter of 2014. We expect to have her speak during Week 3 and will make an announcement regarding specific days and times.
Other opportunities could potentially include creating an Antioch feminist blog, writing publishable articles, and engaging in community outreach. These activities are optional. Students will be able to participate in whatever way works for them. We welcome and appreciate additional suggestions!
