Scenes of beauty, courage and grace. Can't wait for tomorrow.

[04/22/16]   It's almost recital time! Over 100 wonderful families and children who have been learning dance this year and practicing their little hearts out for months. This years shows will feature choreography from our lovely instructors Hannah Rice, Brittni Bryan, Brittany Mattox, Lynn Tofil and myself.

[02/14/16]   Remember we are closed this week for Mid-Winter break. Unless your class is doing a make-up class (Hannah's ballet, my Thursday Aerial, Angels Friday Creative), see you next week for the new session.

[12/21/15]   Remember, no classes during Seattle Public School Winter Break. Classes resume January 4th. Have a great Holiday!

[12/19/15]   Last day of dancing for the year happens tomorrow morning! Also, so excited about two teachers joining our staff. Hannah Rice a Dance Major at Cornish College of the Arts and Angel K Langley a Senior Dance Major at UW (my alma mater and department!). Both are experienced teachers and performers.
Here are their bios:
Hannah Rice
Driven by the structure and discipline of the classical art, Hannah Rice has always had a passion for the beauty that is ballet. After attending a ballet summer intensive program at Evergreen City Ballet at age sixteen, Hannah’s dreams were further ignited to seek out how far she could take her abilities. After transferring her training to The Next Step Dance Studio in Wenatchee, Washington in 2012, she attended more summer intensive programs at Cornish College for the Arts and again at Evergreen City Ballet. She left these programs and trainings with a stronger eye for technique and artistry. Other dance experience of Hannah’s include workshops and classes with Lousie Nadeau of PNB and ECB, Kevin Kaiser of ECB and NYCB, Paula Peters of Cornish, Iyun Harrison of Cornish, Wade Madsen, Michelle Miller, Pat Hon and more. In her first year of teacher training in 2012, she assisted a level 1-ballet class under the direction of Rhiannon Archerelle. Her second year included taking over two level 1-ballet classes and one level 3-ballet class. In her third year, Hannah was teaching level 3-ballet twice a week, level 1-ballet twice a week, teen ballet once a week, pointe technique once a week and created her own Modern class, which was also held once a week. Amy Weaver of Convergence Dance and Francois Serre y Berga were her mentors during her process of teaching and provided guidance and instruction. Over the years, Hannah has trained with Rhiannon Archerelle Rebecca Allen at The Next Step Dance studio in not only becoming a better dancer, but also furthering her art of teaching.

Hannah currently is a sophomore dance major at Cornish College of the Arts and hopes to pursue a future in teaching dance post performance career. She is currently working on choreographic projects of her own as well as rehearsing for Cornish Dance Theater. Hannah holds the truth that as a dance teacher, she is not only responsible for the technical growth and successful future of her students, but also feels the need to connect with her students in hopes of giving them a perspective not otherwise seen. Hannah is overjoyed to guide the future little ballerinas at Gildenfire!
